Thank you for visiting my site. You may have guessed it by now but my name is Ciara Morgan. I’m a mum of two children from Dublin, married to a lovely man and a regular fosterer of dogs. I love exercising and my favourite thing in the world to do is sit in a cafe writing. Last year I wrote my first novel for 9-12 year olds. I was so delighted at having written a whole book that I’ve completely forgotten to try get it published…. so that will be next on my list!
I started my career in retail pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician and Manager before moving into a Purchasing role in head office. The Purchasing role involved buying products for the pharmacy chain nationwide. To buy these products, and cut deals with suppliers, we needed to do in-depth analysis’ of customer behaviour. This is where my love of marketing grew. I started watching everything, the parts of our marketing that were working and why and how the human psyche worked with certain pricing trends or even colour schemes. I went full nerd on it basically!
From there, I moved to Ireland’s number one parenting website, everymum.ie. everymum has a spectacular ethos where they stick to mum and community-led content. This is what I want for most small businesses as it works a treat! It’s a lovely environment to work in and gives the brand a homely feel. I worked mostly with small Irish female-led businesses, giving them exposure on the site through articles and competitions. Interviewing inspiring women was uplifting and hopeful – I have always had such admiration for people who take that fearless plunge and build a successful business. You will find some interviews in my blog with small business owners over time.
everymum is part of a bigger award-winning agency, Zahra, so I moved into account management where I worked with Irish household brands like Aviva, Mothercare, Virgin Media, BWG, MSD and ESB. I have worked on all elements – social media, video shoots, script writing, copywriting for print and digital and I was the managing editor for a client’s quarterly employee magazine. Working with exceptionally talented teams spurred me on to constantly better myself so when the global pandemic that-will-not-be-named hit and I found myself suddenly out of a job, I decided it was time to go it alone!
Change is Great!
So here I am now. I am a writer, editor and proofreader with extensive experience in marketing and content strategy. This small business is set up to help other small businesses. I want to be the marketing genie that lives in your lamp (that sounds odd, but I’m running with it). Once you ask me to work with you, we are a team. I assist in all things content – copywriting, website management, newsletter creation, social media posts, and generally assisting in any other marketing needs almost like a virtual assistant.
